Lunch & Learn: No Enemy At The Gate

In today’s Lunch & Learn we are going to talk about our athletes mentality of “No Enemy At The Gate.” We all want our athletes to be at their best whether we are a coach or a parent, but we are trying to do that in the way that was best for us – not they way that is best for them! We have to learn to teach the same concepts in a different way and that is what “No Enemy At The Gate” is all about!

The Compound Performance Effect

When looking at an athletes competitive performance capacity The Compound Performance Effect is one of the most powerful or most debilitating factors for an athlete. Coaches that understand this effect and know how to coach the athletes through it have a distinct advantage over the competition. The Compound Performance Effect, in my opinion, is the single most important aspect in coaching when it comes to competitive production. Techniques, tactics, strategies, gear you name it – all of it pales in comparison to coaching your program to have a positive Compound Performance Effect.
